My family is going on a vacation next December (over christmas), and we're trying to get everything sorted out pretty quick.
We're looking for a spot that has stuff for everyone (mom and sister are interested in bumming on the beach, dad's into touristy stuff, and me and my bro want to spend our time in the water (surfing, kiting, snorkeling)
We had been thinking Maui (have a deposit on a condo in Kihei). But as far as we can tell there's not much in the way of kiteable winds in dec for noobs, and the surf gets pretty huge there around then.
Does anyone have any suggestions on other potential spots?
(had looked into cabarete but it doesnt look like there's much aside from water sports)
We did Playa Del Carmen/Tulum a couple years ago

You may want to look into Bahia Salinas, Costa Rica. I was just there for 2 weeks and will go back again.
