EDIT: Post here and vote with your thoughts on the BWD logo. If you do want to see a change, post your suggestions below -- or better yet submit your sketches/drawings. This needs to be done ASAP.

While we're talking about it, is there any interest in updating the BWD logo/text? While I like the simplicity of the present logo (like on the stickers), something updated might be nice. I'm sure there is someone with graphic design skills in our community that would donate a few ideas. Or we could have a "new logo contest"...just thinkin'...I don't want to make more work for Dave and others...

I like the idea of promoting the site on clothing.

I like the idea of updating the logo as well, if it's up for discussion. Regardless, I'll pony up the $ anyway.

Update the logo, whaaaaa? A friend and I designed that about 3 yrs ago, but I'm open to any ideas. I kind of like it but would consider a new one or changes.

I like the basic premise of the logo, but I am not a huge fan of the bubble text, the babyish blue, or the fact the sail looks like a sailboat's sail, not a modern windsurfing sail.

I would propose we give a couple weeks window to see if anyone can come up with something better that Dave likes while keeping with the same basic theme. I certainly wouldn't mind giving it a whirl.

Would you go to Nike and say "hey that swish is kinda boring, how about something else?".

Just kidding....in terms of logo design...it has to be simple (clean vector lines, nothing that is difficult to reproduce whether electronic or hard-copy) and relatively few colours for a reason, so don't go crazy if you have something new to suggest.

The logo looks like this in real life.

The image from 4J's post is from a photo of my van and the blue is more baby blue for some reason in that one (white balance issue). The bwd.ca text can be changed but we would have to pick some kind of font. The sail can be changed too. Also we can have some new design ideas. It sounds like this should be done before we do the shirts and hoodies...?

Uhoh, I meant no disrespect Dave, and didn't intend to open a can of worms. I was set to get a hoody with the present logo. My apologies for confusing the "Tshirt and Hoodie" thread!

No that's fine. It's good to get some feedback on the logo. It's a community site so we should have input on these things. Maybe we can pimp up the logo a bit, but we should get suggestions asap since things like this can end up taking forever. Plus everyone is busy and I'm not sure who/when will work on it ?

I split the topic of the logo from the t-shirt/hoody thread, and added a poll to 4J's post (please edit 4J if you want to change anything). That way we can keep them separate. Also we would like to have the logo updated by the end of this month (2 weeks) so we can get onto ordering the tshirts and hoodies.

1- Having a foil kite (including all the beautiful bridles) with a brand new Naish Bar and lines (1.A) as oppose to a 4 line kite would definitively embellish the logo and boost t-shirt/hoodies sales by at least 10%.

2 - If you were to add Trogdor; the burninator, (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7gz1DIIx ... re=related) on each corner of the logo, well, that would boost the sales by at least another 15%.

3- Adding a person riding that windsurfer sail, while wearing a Gath helmet would definitively boost the sales by 20%

4- And, lastly, having an orca jumping over the windsurfer and the kiteboarder while both riders are touching the Orca’s belly will without any doubt skyrockets the sales by another 25% for a total of 70%!

Include here is a Tragdor windsurfer van picture as well.

Make sure the artist gets the poo stance right on the Gath wearing windsurfer. Also the site should be renamed to www.bigwavedave.ka to really boost tshirt sales.
