Kiting in Cuba!

Post by extremekindness Erik »

I have, I have! It was fantastic.
Some wave kiting in Veradero near the Paradisis Resort at the end of the point, (I was there for a wedding a few years ago) The beach is open and as long as you stay away from people the lifeguards shouldn't give you any hassle. I also noticed that there was some locals windsurfing east in Matanzas right at the deepest point of the inlet. I recall that there is a Casa Particular rather close but this area is not really developed for wind sport travelers.

Have fun. If you have any questions just ask.

With stoke,

EKE

Check Cozumel, it is an island south east of Cancun I believe, suppose to be good for kiteboarding, there are windstats on windguru or windfinder (dont remember which one) and it looked pretty good in March/April.

You need to take a ferry near playa de carmen I believe. I am at work right now I dont have much time but ill give you some detail later if I can.

We are going there in April. Have fun!!!

P.S As for Cuba, there are lots of opinion/advice on kitezone.ca, in french:(

Yeah! I just got back from Playa del Carmen, actually just south at Xpu Ha! My brother is there. You should look him up. He works at a kiteboarding school there (at Xpu Ha Bonanza) and has amazing wind and one of the most beautiful beaches I have ever seen. Super chill and not too resorty.

Have a sensational trip. If you have any more questions just email me at

Stoke,

EKE.
