New Port Alberni Harbour Quay Webcam
We have a new webcam today: The Harbour Quay webcam in Port Alberni
http://www.bigwavedave.ca/webcams.php?cam=11
This is a great sailing spot - warm water, nice waves and sweet rigging area. Hopefully the webcam will be helpful here. Look for a good temp difference between Bamfield and Port Alberni and use the Harbour Quay wind data. The local sailors can give more info.
Thanks to the webcam hosts: Kamma & Blake Industries and The Port Boat House. Thanks to Paul, Mike and Steve for hosting the webcam and the help with the installation. Big thanks to David Strang for getting this project going, doing a lot of the legwork and helping with the installation. Thanks to Ralph Petley-Jones for all the legwork too. Also thanks to Chris Alemany and alberniweather.ca.

Now That I’ve Given Up Hope, I Feel Much Better
Thanks to everyone involved with this project!
Should we be looking for the same weather set up conditions as Nitinaht, with thermals and westerly flow, to provide sailing conditions here or are there other factors involved? I keep putting off a visit to a good friend on Sproat Lk. ..... this might be the added incentive I need to make the drive.

Huge thanks to all involved, this is awesome my new August & September destination given the Nat road now we just need to add a Wiki camping info on that spot. Anything nearby excepting China creek? Overnight parking @rigging area
Wish less, sail more!!

I was just talking to Dave S about the location. You should see people sailing from this location. The launch site is to the left at the boat ramp. Depending on wind direction you will see sailors as you can sail up to the jetty you see on the screen. Although most of the sailing would be on the right side, possibly off screen. But there are trees in this direction, plus in the evening, when it consistently blows in the summer, the camera would be facing into the sun. Visually it is more attractive to look up the inlet, which is just to the left. We can always change the direction.
Good news is there are no dogs on the roof to eat the cable. Room for the Kusmobile on the jetty too.
