After being in smaller waves and practicing for the past week i thought i was ready for the big waves.
Heading to Margs i found the wind switched to sw and the waves
were about 4 meters.
as i was excited to get out there.
I chose to go out in the waves on a 135 and a 14 meter.
Not the right choice.
As i played on the shoulder for a while i got board and wanted
to try and get in deep. So i headed out onto the point break way
out and dragged around untill i found the next big set.
As i chases the wave in reaching speeds up to 25 knots.
the the wind gusting from 14 to 25 i found myself in deep.
GREAT if the wind was good and i was on a directional.
but as the wave started to break i found myself on a 4 meter
wave charging me down. When the wave started to pitch i was
as i made the first bottom turn i went up the wave and started to go down the massive wave again to find no power in the kite and haveing being on the 14 the kite was very hard to turn .Found myself at the mercy of the wave and caught up to the kite which had ran out of power and ended up in the water. as i looked down the lines that were sapose to be in the air had ended up in the water while i rode over them. I aborted the board and got out of the way of the lines before the kite powered up and tore my legs off. The lines than somehow went through the foot straps the ended up about a meter up the lines. Before the next wave hit me i powered the kite up so it would pull me through the next massive wave.
Somehow I got the board back after undoing the foot strap while
flying the kite.
I wanted some excitment but that was to much.
I learned not to ride these big waves on a 14.
and you can not surf these waves on a twin tip.
Till today. Another day of 4 meters and 30 knots.
