Forget the 44" stuff, that's from 2018.

Where the foil mast is located is irrelevant. Put your front footstrap where you want it, definitely inboard to start and lose the back footrap altogether, your back foot should be scooching around for balance and to adjust pressure. Back footstrap is only used for pinching up wind. Back foot is usually centered ish on the board on a broad reach.

Cnter the front foil between your feet and adjust from there to try to get even foot pressure.

2000 is a big slow lifty foil. Get into some higher aspect foils for light winds,(slingshot ptm926, sabfoil, f4) You'll need to pump them as they won't just elevate you like a giant wing. Higher architect foils will glide through lulls.

Once your foil is balanced don't move it when you change sails, Instead push the sail mast base forward for larger sails. Back for smaller.

Use your 80cm mast it'll give more recovery time. Most use 90+ for windfoil. Use your long fuse. About 90+- is good for windfoil. Shorter for wingfoil.

Good luck.

Big thick older low aspect foils have a ton of drag. They're meant to under constant low power. The second you let off the sail/wing/kite the foils drag takes over. Add to that the high board swing of an unpowered windfoil setup and the nose drops out. A wider stabilizer and longer fuse could help reduce this effect. But that will also make it harder to overcome the overfoil on the high end.

On the other hand, the thick high aspect pump foils like Sab 1350 nose down under excessive power and buck you off the back right before a stall at nearly dead stop.

Priority one is front wing between the straps and most people prefer the wing towards the front foot.
A slight back lean in the mast is good. Don't shim that.
The 44" thing is old news, I liked 35-38" with sails under 6m.
Use the 1300cm.

Yeah the 44 relates to the box which I will have to ignore since I am using a wing foil right at the mast & shorter fuse

That’s what I needed to hear, ignore the foil mast!

Straps are done! …except I like the back strap, feels solid

I like “get into”… more foils, lol, at those prices I think I’ll make do for a few more days
Yes moving sail mast up sounds more like it (internet says otherwise in a couple spots)

Yeah I’d like the 80 mast next time out and will order a 90. This Wingfoil set doesn’t offer a longer one. Thx for your thoughts! :D

I think the 2000 was way overpowered and I was trying early sailflips because it was shooting rapidly into the gybes, will try more in lighter winds and with longer fuse, thx, later the HA foil

Yep what I thought, now I’ll adjust the plate!
Thx, won’t shim for now but I also feel board is riding nose up a lot, maybe try this after adjustments

35-38 from what? Tuttle bolt? If I move things up the foil mast will be 38-39” :) so ok, sounds close!

The 1300 is great…when it’s windy…, don’t have a longer mast for that one, my next toy is a high aspect 1800 tho, see how that goes for speed using longer fuse and better front wing position…I got the 1800 instead of the 1400 as it was recommended for the bigger person….guess wind vs wingfoil? Tho I don’t see anyone using more than 1500 really …groan :?
