Finished work and headed to CP to check it out as Monks was headed to Willows to check it out. Arrived at 1:45pm and it looked great. solid 10kts with some more in the gusts. Rigged a FAT 6.0m Sailworks Flyer and put on the 1700cm2 front foil to ensure foiling. As I got on the water the wind had decreased down to 6-8 with some 10kt gusts. Found a gust and got a couple of foiling runs then wind dropped and no more gusts, so I schlogged upwind being hopeful and seeing some darker patches out by Jemmy Jones. Well, it took another 30 or 40 mins but the gusts came and I was able to foil consistently and even dropped down to say Hi to The Drunken Monkey who had launched from Willows. Had a chat about NYE festivities as I ripped by H-Rock multiple times. Decided it was pretty light so headed back upwind but by then the wind was getting lighter again and had to schlog back to my CP launch. Great way to finish off 2024 as this December has been really amazing! Lots of very, very windy days and warm weather. Again, no gloves today although it was 6 or 7 degrees. I think have improved my OP'd foiling with Xmas eve and Boxing day both at RB were freakin' windy and fun!! Feeling a bit down because of not having my GPS watch for a bunch of sessions in December and not breaking any records or increasing my yearly distances. All good as I got to learn how to Wing and I'm excited to start Winging again when things warm up a bit. I really can't wait to get on the water again, as I start my 3rd Corona. WooHoo!!!! Thanks to all of you who I was lucky enough to Foil with this year. I'm hoping I see you out on the water early in 2025.
