Didn't look too appealing when i arrived in the rain but lots of people out so went ahead and got ready. Super fun once i got out with some nice small swell to play on and practiced some jumping and even managed to start landing some goofy foot jumps so i can jump on the way out and ride swell back. Managed to stay warm as i was crashing so much and working hard getting back on board . Good to see big group out on rainy Sunday.

How Short?
Arrived on schedule, stoked to try my new Armstrong set from WindDoc. With enough enthusiasm, I could make a 50cm fuse glide gracefully. Staring at it some more, I started to question laws of physics. Maybe later for sea trials :/
ThePope appeared in the distance and pulled a shiny new 60cm fuse from the popemobile. I was saved. It's truly a miracle how many spare parts he carries on that bike, the basket never empties :o
A nice quiet glide on the 1080 considering the relentless rain ... (more)

Showed up for an evening session, and everybody was packing up. Looked very gusty, cold, and flat. Went out on the 4m and it was in fact gusty, cold, and flat. Well overpowered on the 4m and with frozen hands, I went in and pumped up the 3m and warmed up. Went back out, and the swell got better, and the hands felt great (weird how that happens). Ran out of light, but enjoyable solo session. You get what you get and you dont get upset!

Arrived to a bit of a lull, so waited for 20 for it to come back. Rigged big, 5.5m and bravely ventured out bare handed. Lasted about 30min then it began to pick up and that was my excuse to scamper in for the 4.5m and my mitts! Frozen fingers today! Once all bundled up it was a toasty easy peasy day in the bay. Had a large commercial fish boat encroach on my run as they were very close in going by Clover, I wisely gave them right of way. Very good day, some nice swells at times but a tad chilly, thought we ... (more)

Back on the Artv2 for some glidey and fast fun turns. Sporting my new hi-vis duds and found Matt looking sharp out there in the same shirt. Wind was decent for the 4m and I was warm enough except for the pelting rain on my face. Busy at the point with everyone enjoying the day.

Nice swell even though it wasn't that big. Lots of people out with long rides easy to be had. Much colder today than a few weeks ago and raining for the first half . Hands were cold most of the session so I was regretting not having the gloves on. Just love the 940 paired with the 70l board, the waves are so easy to link together and the maneuverability is awesome with the flat 370 stab.

Great flat water session in, finally, a Pat Bay westerly. Daughters stole the plug for my watch charger so I'll say probably 15 knots max speed. Fun zipping back and forth. Was doing aggressive s-turns back to the stairs but didn't realize how shallow it had become and had a pretty spectacular ending at full speed into the sand. No damage (visible).

Wintery conditions but a fun day nonetheless. Underpowered for most of the first half of the session, struggled with gybes and even just getting on foil at times. Things improved for the second half when the wind came back. A few comments at the beach on how good I was looking riding the waves were clearly misdirected at me and meant for Landon. Today he and I were twinning with identical hi-vis shirts (Bobson, it's catching on!). Undoubtedly we're both pretty fashionable guys, but it's easy to tell us ... (more)

Seeking cure for swimming laps on IV and deflategate Gonzales mission, though there was a glide in stride over lunch last week prior to the underwhelming performance of aluula when not filled with air. Days earlier the best surf of the calendar healed the heart, and that wholesomeness is just too addictive, so F* it. Bolt North in the dark.

Over powered at first but quick wing and foil change and I was good to go. Got my first real jump off the lip today, definitely made my day and brought winging to another level for me.

Surprise! Forecast looked soft and light. Looked at the actuals (16-20 mph, ESE, 7 degrees) at 7 am and decided to sleep in. Arrived at the beach about 11 am anticipating big gear like 6.1/115. Arrived to find 5.3/115 conditions and wind kept building. Decided on 4.5/92 and tuned it to flat after the first few runs. Wind swell was clean, organized, and typically about hip high. Played cat and mouse with Big John and saw Tsawwassen hit his first air on the wing! Air and water were both comfortable. F ... (more)

Grumpy as I was late (truck hoist), not a good sore from skiing, thinking it was dropping rigged 5.0 that doesnt like 85 tiny. Consequently sailed the shits, caught a rail, same foot stuck again arrrgggh. Rigged 4.7 after calming down to not forego this nice windy day! It amped! Everyone smarter on 3.7/4.0. Held it for 1hour enough to turn the frown upside down & put my shoulder into spasm
Great WS crew out, ukee winger slaying it, me just happy to recover

My new fav spot to sail. It might have something to do with the new board but still, wind and waves with very little shore break. I stayed with the 1263cm2 front foil as the conditions were a bit cray-cray for me today. Benny and the Jets came out to play at the end but I had a lunch date with my daughter so I had to beat it. Benny is really improving! his Wing skilz! Upon arrival, wind was 15-20kts and was pretty steady but ramped up to 20-24kts for the first 40 mins, then down to 15-20kts again with a cou ... (more)

Shorter session in fairly strong gusty winds - trying to get a tack, but proving elusive ( and tiring).
I get halfway, wing over to new side, but it immediately powers up and spins the board around, killing momentum, and dropping off foil.
Frustrating to say the least.

Nice Friday Flatwater session. Arrived to GregCan and H-Rock rigging up, The Pope out on the water ripping and Tweezer having a nap in his SuperManVan. It looked GREAT, maybe 13-15kts and flat water so I rigged the 4.5m Sailworks Flyer and pulled out my brand new board, The Slingshot Wizard 130!! At 188 x 78cms it's pretty short and wide. 26cms shorter and 5 cms narrower than my Goya Airbolt 135. Although the Wizard feels much wider in the tail giving me better leverage over the sail as I can hike out farth ... (more)
