Good beginner board?

So my wife wants to learn to kite and I have a 157 cm board that I bought years ago but never used (With those dangerous kites - Yes, I promise I won't let her try those
). Would that be a good board to learn on?

if its the same vintage >10yrs old = probably not!! the new boards will get you riding and planing faster than the old school stuff
are you gona take some kite lessons??

yeah, the Mako hasn't changed for something like 14 years now. But it is the exception!

And yes, she's planning to take a lesson in Nitinat this summer.
