Kiteboarding at Tagish Lake, Yukon

Just wondering if anyone has gone kiteboarding up at Tagish Lake in the Yukon? How was it? What were the conditions like? Would you recommend it?

I hear it just rips there, consistently, big waves, sandy beach, no bugs and super warm right from Easter into late autumn, free waterfront camping with all the amenities, recently paved highway....but shhhh, it's a super secret spot
the place is getting too busy so keep it quiet.
Just hang a left @ Jake's Corner off the Alaska Hwy and you're almost there

Hi,
There is a arm of Tagish Lake that the South Klondike Hwy follows for 30k. There is a good launch at the former townsite of Wynton and a couple of places downwind as well. Good times, but super rowdy. If you have a bad-ass boat the midlake action on Tagish would be insane.
The best spot in this area is the outlet of the Watson River on Bennett Lake near Carcross. The Bennett Blow is absolutely world class. It is a thermal wind that averages between 15 and 35 mph. (I only own a 9m if that give you any indication) Wind is side-on and the waves are really sweet for a lake.
Best wind north of the Gorge some say. Hope that answers your question.

yep it gets windy, i have two buddies from high school one on the carcross rd and one in carcross, the one in carcross spent two nights up a tree on the other side of the lake from the rd with the moose he had shot, it took that long for the grizzly bear to go away, personnally i'd stick to bennett lake, safety in numbers thing..

I'll post the beta on the Watson River Launch site on Bennett
Lake when I have a chance. Snow on the higher peaks now but some good 20kt+ days still to be had... Snow kite season is coming and high water this year has carved new quarterpipes in the dunes on the beach. Should be rad. Late March all of April and early May is incredible snow kiting on Yukon Lakes and BC/Alaska passes. Check it out!
