VANCOUVER ISLAND WINDTALK

So I am heading to the Invermere/Radium/Fairmont area in early July. Is there any decent kiting spots in the area. Lake Invermere is pretty large, but also busy and I can't remember if there's much wind. Anyone know anything?

Yep there is!

I kited, or tried to kite last summer but packed the wrong kite. It was either screaming or just a little too light for a 13m. I would bring a 16 or bigger and a 10 if you are riding C kites it didn't seem to blow in the mid range too much.

I launched my 13 in 25 knots at the beach in Windermere called "Public" (yikes) but also saw potential at "Kinsman" beach (by the Lakeside Pub) in Invermere depending on the wind direction.

Hmm, well I'm still pretty new to the sport, so I only have one kite at this point - not enough money for more, at least not yet! I'll be sure to bring it and keep that in mind. Thanks for the info.
