That was amazing!!! Went to IV at 9:30am, took some pics and said hey to Sharky, Marv, MF4 and decided it was too crazy for the BIG GEAR so went to Bazan for some Formula practice. It was blowing 15-18 and looked like it was going to pick up....drove to Sidney and back and thought I didn't want to take the heat from Mr. Kus again so I stopped and rigged up the Severne Overdrive 10.0m and FE board with the 70cm fin. Got on the water by 10:00am and ripped on one tack right to Sidney Spit in a heartbeat!! A couple of downwind tacks and I was zooming by the Cafe at the end of Beacon....the sailboat race had just started with probably 20 boats out racing. I did a few high speed passes for the folks on the wharf and in the cafe so they could see the speed of windsurfing compared to sailboat racing. Lots of smiles and WooHoo's from me had them WooHoo'ing too. NICE!!!! It blew nice solid 12-15kts the entire time. As I was getting back to the launch site it dropped down below 10kts so I called it quits. As I was derigging at Noon it was picking back up but I had the session of the year(so far)....Every run fully powered!! :D I couldn't wipe the S#!T eatin' grin off my face for an hour :D :D :D

I LOVE FORMULA 8) !!!

ps. got a bit of spray in my face but don't think I even got my booties wet for the entire 2 hours!!! MAGICAL SESSION!!! A bit warmer and my hands would have been a bit happier thawing out.!

Great Report, Bobson. Do I detect, the STOKE is BACK :!: I figured from IV that you were going to have a perfect Formula session. Glad you showed off for the racers and spectators at the pier - they need to see what the modern gear will do in modest wind, might well attract some new devotees to the sport that way. You were probably much warmer than the racers, a beat to windward in 12+ and 5 C can be freezing if you aren't kept busy - only a little spray in 2 hours, I'm jealous.

Best session......

hey Mr. Kus, I was just joking about the heat. It's ALL GOOD! :D
The STOKE is definitely back...well...it never really left but when you HIT that magic session it always helps to add to the insanity!!
MF4 - I'll post your pics as soon as I download them...sorry it's dinner time now and the inlaws are in the house so mom-in-law is cooking a Greek diner and the Ceaser's are flowing freely!! First day of work tomorrow after 17 in a row off....tomorrow morning might be a little bit tough to get out of bed.....HA!!

I can't wait for the next BIG GEAR session although I'm going to head down to Bosun's and pick up a close-out 6.5/7.5 sail as I almost missed out today with too much wind!! I guess next Friday is the next time I can sail.....already hope-ing for wind.

DOODS!! :P

ps. KUS - Hope you got a good, although somewhat dark session today!! gotta love how many frontal we've had in the last week. YES!!
